offers interior design services specific to a variety of other facilities

In the planning and designing of any facility we address:
· Actualizing the owner's principles and ideals;
· Understanding the requirements of both the people using
and operating the facility and reflecting them in the design;
· Enhancing the capacities of the persons using the facility,
for example, designing hospital environments that psychologically enhance
the powers of healing, or school environments that stimulate students'
desires to learn.
We continually strive to create facility environments that are not only
functionally solid, safe, and durable, but are also appealing and will
thus be long-loved by the many people who use them. We believe it is important
to maintain a comprehensive perspective on the ideals of the facility.

Recent social trends—particularly the decrease
in child births and increasing aging population in Japan—will progressively
draw focus on rethinking the design approaches to a wide range of facilities.
ILYA makes creating safe facilities that respect health a high-priority
design criterion.
The environments we design transcend the concept of "barrier-free," (i.e.
merely removing the obstacles that hinder people's use of the space); we
strive to effect "universal design," which we define as creating environments
that are easy to use and comfortable for each and all. |

Sophisticated environments that meet both client and user needs do not
emerge from cosmetic design. Our experience shows that they only develop
by striving to optimize function, quality, and safety while respecting
budgetary, timing, and implementation parameters. Our designers work together
with architects and engineers making use of cost and technical data and
construction supervision know-how compiled from ILYA's achievements to
date. With support from staff based in New York, and a network of collaborating
specialized consultants, we are fully prepared to meet the wide ranging
needs—including MEP (mechanical/electrical/plumbing) planning—of designing
complex facilities.
